About this place
At Torisuke, part of the pleasure is ordering a few skewers at a time and enjoying them fresh off the grill, rather than ordering everything at once. One diner said the skewers were generous in size, with negima, tsukune and liver all seasoned just right. Another ordered 5 kinds of yakitori and particularly enjoyed the torisawa. You can choose individual skewers such as negima, chicken breast, hearts and chicken wings, or opt for an assorted selection of 5 or 8 kinds. Menu prices include 275 yen for negima, 308 yen for tsukune, and 5 kinds for 1,210 yen or 8 kinds for 1,925 yen for the assorted selection.
Fried chicken is another option between skewers. One diner found the breast meat moist rather than dry, and not too greasy, making it an appealing choice when you want something beyond yakitori. Small plates include Torisuke’s nukazuke pickles, liver pâté with baguette, and an ajillo of squid and prawns. The selection works for a meal built around grilled skewers, or for drinks accompanied by a few snacks.
One diner said the grilled rice ball on a skewer was a memorable finish after the yakitori. It was crisp on the outside and piping hot inside, with a pronounced soy sauce flavour. Keep it in mind if you’d like a rice dish to round out a selection of skewers.
